Community-Get out there!
Greetings!
As
a member of Councilmember Abbe
Land's Well West Hollywood Task Force,
I am excited to announce new city developments
promoting fitness.
The following is from Abbe's newsletter:
"Get ready,
get set, walk! We are gearing up
to add 2 new walking loops on our city
streets. One route will begin
at the new Formosa pocket park and weave
its way through residential streets on
the City's eastside. The second will
begin at West Hollywood Park and zigzag
through the City's westside. We will
unveil the new walking courses this fall.
Until then, the Park-to-Park Walking Loop
is already up and running. Pick up
the route at Plummer Park or West Hollywood
Park. Complete the full 5 mile round-trip
route and you will have walked the recommended
10,000 steps per day to maintain your
good health."
It's
been beautiful out there, so get out and
walk! We are
fortunate to be living in a city that
is small enough to be walkable.
If you're out between the hours
of 10am and 3pm when the sun is most fierce,
wear sunscreen and stay hydrated!

TIDBITS
Mike Ergas made his IFBB
pro debut recently competing in the
Europa Pro competition in Dallas,
TX. Mike
won 14th place, which is
a tremendous showing for a first time
pro.
Mike has been seriously (and we mean
serious!) into body building for the
past 10 years.
After many close and controversial
2nd placements, he finally
made Mr. USA last year, an emotional
win that was a huge weight (pun intended!)
off his titanic shoulders.
How does one get to this level?
For
starters, Mike has exemplary discipline
and mental focus. He
starts honing his diet 16 weeks prior
to the competition date.
He eat a LOT of clean proteins
like chicken, fish, ground sirloin
and mixes that with rice or potatoes
and lots of veggies.
Mornings are usually oatmeal
making sure that he eats throughout
the day (as much as 8x per day) in
small portions.
He hits the gym twice a day
everyday for the same 16 weeks for
the most part training solo.
As
you can tell, it takes incredible
drive and motivation to be this dedicated
which Mike has always been. In
past lives, Mike was a national level
gymnast and then a cheerleading champion
twice with the University of Kentucky
as a leader and a coach.
Finally, his ambition drove
him into bodybuilding where, once
again, he is making a name for himself.
His
latest pro debut has been a learning
experience. He
now knows the next challenge in front
of him. That
next level up is what pumps Mike up!
Stay
tuned for my next feature of "Las
Tres Amigas Machas," three hot TRAIN
women gearing up for their
competition.
Marco
Reed, super hottie trainer
and dad to even hotter boys (my future
boyfriends?), was recently featured
on ABC news showcasing his concept,
the staggered workout.
http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=food_coach&id=5531974
His
new fitness regiment, STAGGER
FOR SUCCESS, has resulted
in amazing case histories of clients
losing up to 12-15% body
fat in eight weeks. The
cornerstone of the workout is a food
plan designed by him combined
with his weekly boot camp outdoors
in West Hollywood Park each Saturday.
Pick up his new Get Beyond Fit Whey
Protein Powder to round out the program
about which celebrities, media and
clients are raving.
Marco
is an accomplished trainer and has
been featured in many media outlets
such as Channel's "FIT TV," KTLA CHANNEL
5, KABC CH. 7, FITNESS MAGAZINE,
FIT MAGAZINE, LA CONFIDENTIAL,
ANGELENO as one of the top
trainers in the city.
He also is highly knowledgeable
and credentialed in fitness with a
Bachelors Degree from UC Davis.
His major is Exercise Physiology
with a minor in Nutrition.
He also has a Masters Degree
in Psychology from the University
of Santa Monica.
See more of Marco on ExerciseTV.tv
Discovery, or you can visit him at:
www.getbeyondfit.com.
Marcus
Patrick makes his splashy
debut on the September 2007 cover
of PLAYGIRL.
If you're shy, well don't be!
You MUST see these hot, hot,
hot pictures!
SShhh!
I have a copy in my office.

CYCLE
We're
excited to introduce our newest class
called SPINTOXIC!
I know it sounds nefarious but
it's really meant to be a cleansing
class. Led
by Minter every Sunday
at 10am, it's a one-hour sweat-a-thon
meant to squeeze every last bit of toxin
you swilled into your system over the
weekend. Overdid
the mojitos? Danced
'til your feet bled? Woke up in a fog?
It's time to SPINTOXIC!
It's not a challenging class
per se. It's
just a long ride designed to rehab you
back into tip top shape Monday morning.
So, why don't you just go, go,
go?! Plus,
the fun thing is Minter takes musical
requests. Put
in your fave musical selections the
week before and Minter will be sure
to incorporate your
song into her playlist.
TRAIN
received a postcard from first-time
AIDS Lifecycler, Ali Rahimi,
thanking us for supporting his fundraising
efforts. His
original goal of $10,000.00 was surpassed
by an additional $20,000!
That's right!
Ali was able to raise $30,000,
the 5th highest fundraiser
out of the 2800 people who participated.
Incredible!
Congratulations Ali for this
achievement.

CLIENT
CORNER
Ever
felt the angst of having to buy a new
car and dealing with car salespeople you're
unsure of trusting?
Fortunately, most of us only have
to do this every few years or so.
But when you do, do you know if
you're getting the absolute best possible
deal out there? With
today's myriad channels of securing a
car-from the traditional lot all the way
through eBay, today's car buyer is faced
with many options that can cause analysis
paralysis to overpayment or just plain
spending way too much time trying to get
the best deal. Either
way, an exercise that makes doing 25 hack
squats a much more pleasurable drill.
Enter
Ted Fenton, one of Paul
Taegel's regular and long-time clients.
Ted, when not working out almost
daily at TRAIN, offers a unique service
to car buyers.
Ted is a car buying and negotiation
expert and puts this know-how to work
for people who have no clue about the
car-buying process, people who don't have
the time to haggle or for those who simply
don't want to undergo the entire dealer
process. He will work with up to 15 dealers
to get your desired car at the best price
and hammer them on the
financing. Once
done, he delivers the car to your location.
All you had to do was tell him
the car you want at what price point and
voila! Easy
as cake!
I
tried Ted out recently after selling my
Range Rover. Given
my recently divorced status, I wanted
a lower cost car, a convertible and the
security of knowing that I wasn't going
to be fleeced by a smarmy salesman.
Despite Barry's generous entreaties
to help out, I also wanted to wrest my
dependence from my ex-husband.
Being the newly independent woman,
I staked out on my own.
Ted's service fit my needs to a
T and before long, I had my gleaming SAAB
9.3 convertible parked at the TRAIN lot.
Ted,
also a budding actor, plays a wicked game
of golf, motorcycles and cheers for the
Yankees. Say
hi and trade car war stories between sets.
More information about Ted can
be found on his business site: www.goseeted.com.
